Circus and Haiku
On my Orange Orb blog at Word Press, I wrote a post about a dream I had involving the world of the weird (which is what the Orange Orb blog is about) and haiku. Who knew such things could be connected? In my subconscious, they often are. Circus and Haiku: A Positive Omen for Creativity?

disbelief
disbelief
snorts out its fear
its arrogance a cold cloak
i know what I know,
saw what i saw...
light emits
whispers rustle
blue trees bend, remaining silent.
voices float downstream
heavy moons, full,
hang above.
time is Time is
missing, not lost
withheld in a floating orb.
i know what i know,
i saw what i saw. . .

From the Obscure Way by James Rich
He'll wander blind into the night - -
his path is wrought with peril - -
the flowers and the woodland sprites
have all turned wild and feral
~ Easton's quatrain, from The Obscure Way (working title) by James Rich

Blue Lights
Blue Lights
unexpected, blue lights appear
photo: regan lee
in this isolation, and through
the thin cracks in the rough wood,
glowing mists invite, even while repelling
a cold silence makes itself known, waiting
we hear its breathing
dreams, night walking, forgetfulness
only slivers of mists and light beams remain
jarring realities intrude, mundane violences, abrupt commands
we don’t understand, we don’t remember
but sense invisible connections anyhow
we believe there’ll be a reveal in the retelling, no matter
how fragmented
memory has a sentience all its own
